Servers [Basic infrastructure for computational support]

  • File servers (5). Stores all the network files.

    • Dell PowerEdge R510: 24TB HD (RAID6), 8GB RAM, MS Windows Server 2008 x64. (cbsufsrv2).

    • 12 bay external eSATA enclosure with Areca PCIe 8x card connected to Dell Precision desktop, 24 TB HD (RAID6), Red Hat Linux. (cbsufsrv3).

    • 12 bay external eSATA enclosure with Areca PCIe 8x card connected to Dell Precision T110 server, 36 TB HD (RAID6), CentOS. (cbsufsrv4).

    • Dell Precision T110, Intel Xeon X3430, 2.4 GHz, HDD SATA controller with total of 36TB HDD, 8GB RAM. (cbsuwrkstfsrv1).

    • 2 x 12 bay external eSATA enclosure with Areca PCIe 8x card connected to Dell PowerEdge T110 II, Intel® Xeon® E3-1220 3.10 GHz, 60TB (RAID6), CentOS. (cbsufsrv5)

  • General purpose Windows servers for web access and data processing (4). They serve all CBSU web-based applications and interfaces, as well as some data processing needs and computing infrastructure administration.

    • Dell PowerEdge 2850: 100GB HD, 2GB RAM, MS Windows Server 2003 x64 (cbsusrv03).

  • Ftp server (1). Enables data transfers to and from the collaborators as well as data and software publishing on the Internet.

    • Dell PowerEdge 2550: 6.5TB HD (RAID5), 1GB RAM, MS Windows Server 2003 x64.

  • SQL database servers (2). Main tool for data analysis and access, backend for web applications and LIMS.

    • Dell PowerEdge 4600: 1TB HD (RAID5), 12GB RAM, MS Windows Server 2003 x64, MS SQL Server 2005. (cbsusql)

  • General purpose Linux servers (8). Used for computing and developing needs, as well as web access and data processing with software that requires Linux.

  • Workstations (4) dedicated to sequence data processing.

Clusters [Main computational resource for data processing]       

 

  • 60 node 240 core Windows cluster. Dell PowerEdge 1855 nodes with two x64 Pentium 4 Xeon 3.4GHz, 4GB RAM and 144GB HD

  • 32 node 128 core Linux cluster. Dell PowerEdge M600 blade nodes with two quad-core Intel Xeon E5420 2.5GHz, 16GB RAM and 300GB HD.

  • 425 node 850 core hybrid Linux/Windows cluster. Sun V20Z nodes with two AMD Opteron 248 2.2GHz, 2GB RAM and 300GB HD.
