Name:IGV
Version:2.8.2
OS:Linux
About:The Integrative Genomics Viewer (IGV) is a high-performance visualization tool for interactive exploration of large, integrated genomic datasets.
Added:12/13/2011 2:42:54 PM
Updated:4/10/2020 7:59:32 PM
Link:http://www.broadinstitute.org/igv/
Manual:http://www.broadinstitute.org/igv/UserGuide
Platform:Ilumina
Notes:

To open IGV, you will need to use VNC access. Start VNC on your reserved computer by following the guide https://biohpc.cornell.edu/lab/userguide.aspx?a=access (see “Access with VNC” section).

On the desktop of your reserved computer, start the "Terminal" program from under the "Applications" menu in the upper left.

To start the IGV program, at the Terminal command prompt, type:

igv

To start the IGV program with (for example) 8G of RAM instead of the default of 4G, copy and paste the following two commands:

PATH=/programs/IGV_2.8.2/jdk-11/bin:$PATH

java -showversion --module-path="/programs/IGV_2.8.2/lib" -Xmx8g \
@"/programs/IGV_2.8.2/igv.args" \
-Dapple.laf.useScreenMenuBar=true \
-Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true \
--module=org.igv/org.broad.igv.ui.Main "$@"

Alternatively, you can download the .bam .bai files to your own computer, launch IGV from your own computer: http://www.broadinstitute.org/software/igv/home.
