They are Linux GUI softwares: gsAssembler is for assembly, gsMapper is for call variants.

If you are not familiar with X windows, read this document. ("Access" tab), then read under "Access with VNC". 

In putty or terminal window, type the following command:

export APP_JRE_HOME=/usr/lib/jvm/jre-1.6.0-openjdk.x86_64

Then launch the program with the command

gsAssembler or gsMapper
